Make your own cupcakes cases

You might ask why would you need or want to make these when they are readily available at most stores and at reasonable prices; well for those days when you just have to make cupcakes or muffins and you are out of paper cases plus these work out a lot cheaper and don’t take long to make at all – you could even bribe your kids to help you.  My Aunty Christine showed me how to make these and her 3 and 4 year old granddaughters love helping her cut out the circles too.

You will need the following state of the art equipment:

  • Baking paper
  • Pencil
  • Scissors
  • Round lid of sorts (I used the lid of a 250g Nestle cocoa tin) it is the ideal size

Step1:  Draw circles on the baking paper.

Step 2:  Cut out your circles and fold to create quarters.

Step 3:  Cut about half way down  the centre of each quarter.

Step 4:  Place into your cupcake/muffin tins.
They fold over themselves and seal perfectly when you squish them down.

Et voilà, your very own homemade cupcake case.

Spray lightly with cooking oil before filling.
