For the longest time, I have wanted to compile a Recipe Book with my special recipes and those of family and friends. Then as with most things in life, change happened and my vision was temporarily shelved until now.
Originally I was going to write a “local” recipe book for Sundays River (our home in South Africa) but subsequently with Pete and I temporarily relocating to Mauritius it has grown into a juicier book including recipes from the diverse cultures of the island.
I have included in this book many great tips I have learnt and gathered over the years. I hope they will be as helpful to you as they have been for me.
Each recipe in this book is special to the person who made the contribution; so each one has particular meaning and has not just been included because it sounds nice in theory.
At the bottom of every recipe page is a section called User’s Notes where you can jot down any additional information you wish to remember about a specific recipe.
The end of each chapter has blank recipe pages for you to add your own special recipes; so this will truly be The Complete Cook Book.
I hope you enjoy using each recipe with as much hungry enthusiasm in which I received them.
Happy cooking, baking, eating and drinking.
Bon Appétit.
Mandy

Hi Mandy, Just wanted to say “Congratulations! You have been awarded The Versatile Blogger Award” by Chica Andaluza. Go to http://chicaandaluza.wordpress.com for more details. Love your blog and as part of being awarded it, I am asked to pass it on. Take care, Tanya PS. I only realised after I “awarded it” that you (of course) already have it…don´t think it matters though does it, getting it twice (at least!)

Thanks Mandy for the great recipe. I was looking for another South African who was making this with Photo’s and I found yours after 25 searches. This is the way my Ouma used to make them and I have been making them for 25 years now. I put it on my Pinterest page. Thankyou!

Hi Therese, welcome and thanks for stopping by. I am thrilled you found what you were looking for on my blog, although you left your commend on my Preface page so I am unsure of which recipe you are referring to. Thank you to for adding it to your Pinterest page – I have no idea how to access that though. Have a super afternoon.

Mandy, great job! I’ve always wanted to learn to make a blog, but alas, I have no talent.
I love to cook, have LOADS of recipes, but no knowledge of blogging. Do you give lessons?
AGAIN, GREAT JOB!!
By: Michelle Hall on March 16, 2012

Hi Michelle, welcome and thanks for stopping by. Thank you too for your very kind words. I am sure you are very talented! Blogging is super easy – I am self taught. WordPress is a great platform to use as it seems to be easier to understand than the other platforms available (for me anyway). Sadly I don’t give lessons but why not register a blog with WordPress and see how you get along. They have a wonderful help facility and if you email one of their happiness engineers, they will reply promptly with wonderful advice and ways of sorting out your query. Please let me know if you do start a blog, I would love to follow along. Have a super weekend.
