Wordless Wednesday – The 2nd Cup

Wordless Wednesday – The 2nd Cup

The 2nd Cup is a eatery in Johannesburg with 2 branches (sorry don’t know either areas names) and we were treated by the folks to a breakfast at their newest branch.Ā  The atmosphere is euphoric, the food not so much and the prices are astronomical!

  1. Too bad, Mandy, that the food didn’t measure up to the ambience because it looks like it was a charming place. It’s such a disappointment.

By the way, any chance you could steal that clock for me? šŸ™‚

    • Exactly Tanya – that is what should be the driving force on getting repeat customers. Oh well, hopefully they will improve as it honestly is very easy to rectify. Have a beautiful day. šŸ™‚

  2. It’s always disappointing when you discover that you could have made it better and cheaper at home. It takes the fun out of eating a meal out. Lovely photos though!

    • It is very disappointing Misky and all it would take is management keeping their finger on the pulse to correct a few things in the kitchen and they would be able to produce a meal worthy of the cost. Have a super day. šŸ™‚

    • Thanks CCU – must say they really have gone to a lot of effort in the “ambience” of the place, although both my mom and I noticed (we are quite particular) that every single picture and mirror was hanging skew. I am sure they are all straight now as mom had a friendly word with the manager. šŸ˜‰ Have a super day. šŸ™‚

  3. It is so disappointing when a lovely restaurant can’t follow through with the food. The funny thing is that they have to know what is wrong.

  4. Not sure about the look of the place…a bit crowded, a bit messy…lots of stuff, but they don’t seem to match…blue table, brown ceiling, white lamps…not exactly my type of the combo.
But if food was good…then it’s another story…

  5. –What a gorgeous place…One would imagine the food would be gorgeous, too.

    Too bad…

    • We don’t mind paying silly high prices just so long as the food is worth it – so this one did sting a little bit, even though the folks were fitting the bill. Have a super weekend Smidge. šŸ™‚

  6. Too bad. It looks like a nice place and the main thing the food is bad. šŸ˜¦ When the food is bad, it’s less likely that people go back…despite how pretty the atomosphere is…
