I really should think about a shorter title but Chicken Meatballs and Cabbage doesn’t quite have the same ring to it. This makes for a scrumptious lunch or light dinner and comes together in no time at all.
Mini Chicken Meatballs over Butter Fried Baby Cabbage and Roma Tomatoes
500g ground chicken
45ml finely diced onion
15ml sweet chilli sauce
10ml chicken stock powder
5ml dried thyme
Salt and black pepper to taste
1 baby cabbage shredded
8 Roma tomatoes halved
- Combine all of the ingredients except for the cabbage and tomatoes in a bowl and form small meatballs.
- Pan fry the meatballs in a little drizzle of olive oil and set aside.
- Melt a good sized knob of butter in a pan and fry the cabbage and tomatoes for 2 minutes.
This dish sounds like a classy dinner and looks fantastic 😀

You are so sweet CCU, thanks! Have a lovely day. 🙂
You made me laugh, Mandy, for I also consider title length when posting a recipe. I laugh because I would never skip a recipe of yours, for example, if I thought the title too long. For me, it’s always about the content. So, why do I worry so much about things like title length. 🙂
Seem the title was nearly longer than my opening paragraph John. 😀 Sometimes the title tells it all. Have a superb day. 🙂
I love to nibble on those meatballs, looks so delicious. I think a serving would not be enough
Must say Raymund, they really were very moreish. Have a super day. 🙂
I never think to make chicken meatballs which is silly as I have so much usually in my freezer! Love the flavours int he meatballs and the simplicity of pullitng this dish together. Fantastic!
Thanka Tanya. The flavours all worked so nicely together. Have a super day. 🙂
A short or long title, this looks lipsmacking and right up my alley!

Hi Mandy – i do fish balls by first cooking the fish and then fry. should i do the same with the chicken? ie cook first and then mince?
thanks – Falo
Hi Falo, thanks for stopping by. Nope, you use the chicken mince raw and fry from raw. Have a super day. 🙂
I love the bed of fried cabbage it’s served on, great touch! I always think my titles are wayyyy to long 😉
I wasn’t sure if people would like the idea of the cabbage. Not your usual combination of flavours but it certainly worked very well. I don’t think your titles are too long at all. Have a super day. 🙂
Sometimes nothing will do but having a long title! 🙂 I love how this dish looks with the strands of baby cabbage. They look almost like buttery pasta strands, and the dish is so pretty and colorful.
Thanks Betsy! Have a great day. 🙂
