As promised, here are the last of the shots from our road trip.
I love old farm houses and buildings, it isΒ as if they all have a story to tell
The long and winding road
The day time moon
Mountains, mountains and mountains
Bales of hay for Celi
Can you also feel the history?
Getting much closer to home, things are getting greener
Very close to home
Home
Gee, Mandy, some of these shots give new meaning to the phrase “middle of nowhere”. How vast! What a lonely life it must have been to settle and build a farm out there. And hard. A truly hard life. Thanks for taking us along and, more importantly, bringing us back home. π
Glad you enjoyed the drive with us John. Will be sure to take you along next time too. Have an awesome day. π
Great stuff, Mandy! π
Thanks Celia! have a great day. π
Beautiful road trip π I love bales of hay, too π
Thanks Tes, glad you enjoyed it. Have a lovely day. π
I can’t think of any word appropriate to describe your photography π
Cheers

CCU, what a remarkable compliment, thank you! Have an awesome day. π xo
Those photos are amazing! That day moon looks really cool.
Thanks Angie, glad you enjoyed them. Have a lovely day. π
So much space, so much sky. Such very different scenery to where we live, beautiful! And yes, you can certainly feel the history….we need to know more π
It’s quite remarkable how much open space there is Tanya! I would love to stop and knock on every door we come across but alas Pete is not keen. I know, when you come and visit, you and I can go on a history sourcing trip. Have a lovely day. π
Oh yes, and IΒ΄m definitely up for knocking on doors!
YIPPEE!!! π
This place looks a little different compared to Hong Kong. Where are all the people?
The people are much more dispersed here than what they are in Hong Kong Bam – also it’s winter so you won’t see too many people mincing about outside plus people won’t really be on the outskirts of the towns. Have a lovely weekend. π
the pictures look so amazing. What a wonderful and relaxing place to visit. glad you remembered to show us the pics
Glad you enjoyed the pics Belle. Have a beautiful weekend. π
Love the picture tour. Made me feel like I was on vacation. Have to check out part 1 now…going in reverse order. π
Thanks Kristy – how lovely that it made you feel like you were on vacation. See you at part 1. π
Very vast scenery. Every picture is wide and so much space. Those are hay? Wow, humongous!! Have a great weekend Mandy!
We went past quite a few farms with bales of hay Nami, it was difficult to decide which picture to share. Have a super weekend. π
Enjoyed very much tagging along on your trip. Great shot of the day time moon
Hi Norma, thank you for coming along for the ride. Glad you enjoyed the photos. Have a beautiful weekend. π
Mandy–Thanks for sharing your road trip. The sky was a gorgeous blue that day.
– Michael
I am pleased you enjoyed the pictures Michael. Have a super weekend. π
What lovely images and it’s so great to see your part of the world. The photo of that farm house looks just like old homes we have here in Australia. xx
Thanks Charlie. How nice to think we share similarities with architecture, I like that. Have a happy weekend. π
Oh that farmhouse with the deep verandah.. the first thing I did when I got here was build a verandah onto the house, it is hard to take shots from a car of a landscape with such a straight flat horizon, you have to get it dead on, I mean you can correct it in Photo Shop but I am never as satisfied.. you did a marvellous job with that.. excellent.. you and that camera are certainly becoming great pals.. c
I have always said to Pete that my dream home has a complete surround verandah, swing chair included. π I wouldn’t even know how to correct anything in Photoshop. The most I ever do to my photos is crop a wee bit off the sides. Thanks for taking the time to stop in on both posts Celi! Have a beautiful week ahead. π xo
I love travel photos, thank you for sharing these!
Awesome, glad you enjoyed them. Have a lovely week ahead. π
Lovely post! I just came back from a week long road trip to NYC and back, and we drove by many homes with hey, cow, amazing landscape… it is so beautiful! Thanks for sharing…:)
Hi Marina, welcome and thanks for stopping by. I’m glad you enjoyed the photos. Have a super week ahead. π
love your landscape shots, specially that one with the moon
Thanks very much Raymund. I also really like that shot. Have a great week. π
I loved the photo of the old farmhouse with the verandah, I’ve always wanted a verandah, don’t ask me why, it’s just one of THOSE things I want! And I always wonder about the history and the stories too, all those lives what it must have been like without electricity, easy communication. It’s something I regularly pondered about when we were out and about in the Alps, those tiny communities ostensibly cut off. What a life!
A lovely trip, thank you!
Calire, I too have always wanted a verandah and a swing chair on the verandah and I am so pleased that I am not the only one who wonders about life of yesteryear. Glad you enjoyed the pics. Have a super week. π
Hi Mandy – these images are lovely. I love old farm houses too; there’s something about the simplicity and unspoiled nature that attracts me. So quiet and still. Beautiful.
Thanks Kelly! I am glad you enjoyed the pics. Have a lovely week. π
Gorgeous photos Mandy, thanks for taking me along for the ride.
Hi Yudith, thanks very much! Have an awesome day. π
-thank goodness for your new camera, Mandy! Lovely. Beautiful.
btw, I have a teacher friend who left yesterday for Johannesburg to teach for a couple years. He and his wife should be there by now! I wonder how close he is to you.
Xxx
Absolutely Kim, having my camera has been such an incredible blessing that I treasure each and every day! We are a 10 hour drive away from Johannesburg but my folks live there so I will always make trips there (although not often) and would love to know where your friends are staying if you could let me know! Have a beautiful day. π xo
Beautiful scenery, I’m just catching up on your trip, but how lovely and such great shots!
You are very kind Betsy, thank you very much! π xo
