I am sure you are all bored hearing about me doing family research but to be fair, it’s been a while since I did any work on the tree and I have managed to locate quite a few more family members. Awesome! 😀
I shall be taking a short hiatus from blogging as the family research is taking up all of my time and with my dog at a bone tenacity I want to get as much done as I can before the end of the year.
Forgive my lack of visiting and commenting on your posts, I will try to catch up with you as soon as I can.
I hope you uncover a lot of family history. Good luck! xx
Thanks very much Charlie! My family tree is growing in chunks with each new day! 🙂 xo
have a super fun time doing this Mandy xxx
Thanks Tandy! Have a happy day. 🙂 xo
Best of luck, enjoy and have a good Christmas. MM 🎄
Thanks very much MM, I am thoroughly enjoying the journey, albeit a long one. Have a super day. 🙂
Good luck and have a good time with your family tree research!
Thanks very much Angie. Have a wonderful weekend ahead. 🙂 xo
All the best Mandy for a wonderful festive season.
Glenda, thank you, the same to you too. 🙂 xo
Sorry you won’t be hanging out but I can see why you need the time to focus on your project. Good luck!
I will pop in here and there Diane and should be back to “normal” by the new year – well sort of. I always have this vision of getting things done and then other people mess with my plans – how rude! 😉 Have a beautiful weekend ahead friend. 🙂 xo
Definitely a worthwhile project, Mandy! It’s easy to lose your history if someone doesn’t take the time to compile it, and it’s always so interesting! 🙂
Betsy I so wish I had started this exercise 5 or so years ago, there would have been so many more people still alive who would have been able to provide me with lots of facts. I am loving this fascinating journey. Have a wonderful day. 🙂 xo
How exciting, my son did a little of this a few years back and we were shocked to find that most of the family legends were STORIES!! have fun, see you in a while.. c
Isn’t it amazing how stories get carried over as legend. This is such an incredible journey and I am loving every step of it. There is one great uncle who seems to have fallen off the face of the earth and I have heard stories he changed his name – can’t wait to find the legend or is it story behind it all. I will definitely be popping over to see if you post any pics of our darling boy Marmalade. Have a lovely weekend ahead. 🙂 xo
That’s wonderful what you are doing 🙂 ela
Thanks very much Ela! Have a lovely day. 🙂 xo
Mandy, go you… my Peter is doing his family tree too! Miss you already xo
Thanks Lizzy! My Peter is getting me to do his tree. I have already made good headway and think I shall take a break once I have all the “current” family members accounted for before going back in the history books. Have a super weekend. 🙂 xo
Take all the time you need.. we’re always here, waiting for you to get back. Good luck finding your relatives!!xx
Thanks so much Smidge! This really is a time consuming task so will need to take a breather here and there and hopefully keep up with you. Have a beautiful weekend. 🙂 xo
It sounds like and interesting and fun project to be working on.
It really is Karen – I am having loads of fun. Have lovely weekend. 🙂 xo
Have fun – hope you find out some interesting bits and bobs. Actually, I may ask you for some help as I found that my great, great grandfather died in SA during one of the Boer Wars and am trying to track down a photo of a memorial which I think has his name on it!
Thanks Tanya – I am having the most wonderful time chatting with people who are sharing tales of yesteryear. I will gladly help you find whatever I can, although since the beginning of this year, you have to pay for a lot of what you want – so frustrating as I hit quite a few blocks. Let me have some more information about your grandfather and where he passed and let’s see if I can find anything. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Good for you, Mandy, and good luck. You’ve reminded me that I have to get back to work on our family tree. Thank you for that. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend.
Thanks John! I like to tackle a good chunk at a time and here’s hoping I can trace all the “unknowns” this round. Have a wonderful week ahead. 🙂 xo
Go on girl !
i hope the best for you, but actually you’re family is as simply as who cares about you my dear…….
btw, finding family tree is out Indonesia descent tradition too….
Thanks Dedy! I am enjoying finding family I never knew I had. This really is a wonderful journey. Have you put your family tree together yet? Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Enjoy. I know how absorbing and time-consuming that can be. But I also know how satisfying it is to make those discoveries. Hoping you’re having lots of fun…
Thanks very much Bill! I really am enjoying this journey and like you say, it is extremely time consuming which is why I have had to take a hiatus from the blogging world for a few weeks. Hope you are well. 🙂 xo
I know that can be too exciting to put down. Good luck on your search!
Thanks for stopping by Mary. This really is a wonderful journey. Have a super day. 🙂
I think it’s so cool that you track your family tree. It’s something I’d love to do someday. Have a very happy holiday season Mandy! Here’s to a wonderful 2014. Cheers!
Hi Kristy. This is such an addictive journey but one that requires loads of time.
Wishing you, Mike, Mr N and Miss A a wonderful festive season filled with love and happiness.

This brings back so many memories. When i was in kindergarden and ran around the house to find photographs of all the family members.(This was homework from school) 🙂
Hi Ayesha, thanks for stopping by. I still have the daunting task of putting photos to this gigantic project! Have a super day. 🙂 xo
LOL! I have started our family tree too, so interesting and so many stories.
Merry Christmas, I hope you had a wonderful day.
Merry Christmas to you too. We had a wonderful day with family. Every day is a new adventure with doing the family tree – I am loving all the stories. Have a super New Year. 🙂 xo
Hi, I know I was meant to do this months ago but my mother in law is very sick and the time has just flown by. I have finally posted the Getting to Know You -Part three questions and answers for SurreyKitchen if you would like to take a look. Good luck with the family history research, it all sounds very interesting. Belated congratulations on winning the Liebster Award. I am very impressed by the number of awards you have won. Hopefully SurreyKitchen will get nominated for something one day, but I don’t really understand how the awards work yet. Happy New Year. Love Emma http://www.surreykitchen.com.
Hi Emma, I have been offline over the festive season so my apologies for only responding now. I’m so sorry to hear your mother in law is ill, I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
Thank you so much for sharing in the fun of the Getting to know you series, it is great fun. I am heading over right now to see your answers.
2014 is going to be a wonderful year for us all. Looking forward to getting to know you better through our blogs.
