Family Tree’ing AGAIN!

I am sure you are all bored hearing about me doing family research but to be fair, it’s been a while since I did any work on the tree and I have managed to locate quite a few more family members. Β Awesome! πŸ˜€

Family Tree

I shall be taking a short hiatus from blogging as the family research is taking up all of my time and with my dog at a bone tenacity I want to get as much done as I can before the end of the year.

Forgive my lack of visiting and commenting on your posts, I will try to catch up with you as soon as I can.

    • I will pop in here and there Diane and should be back to “normal” by the new year – well sort of. I always have this vision of getting things done and then other people mess with my plans – how rude! πŸ˜‰ Have a beautiful weekend ahead friend. πŸ™‚ xo

    • Betsy I so wish I had started this exercise 5 or so years ago, there would have been so many more people still alive who would have been able to provide me with lots of facts. I am loving this fascinating journey. Have a wonderful day. πŸ™‚ xo

  1. How exciting, my son did a little of this a few years back and we were shocked to find that most of the family legends were STORIES!! have fun, see you in a while.. c

    • Isn’t it amazing how stories get carried over as legend. This is such an incredible journey and I am loving every step of it. There is one great uncle who seems to have fallen off the face of the earth and I have heard stories he changed his name – can’t wait to find the legend or is it story behind it all. I will definitely be popping over to see if you post any pics of our darling boy Marmalade. Have a lovely weekend ahead. πŸ™‚ xo

    • Thanks Lizzy! My Peter is getting me to do his tree. I have already made good headway and think I shall take a break once I have all the “current” family members accounted for before going back in the history books. Have a super weekend. πŸ™‚ xo

  2. Have fun – hope you find out some interesting bits and bobs. Actually, I may ask you for some help as I found that my great, great grandfather died in SA during one of the Boer Wars and am trying to track down a photo of a memorial which I think has his name on it!

    • Thanks Tanya – I am having the most wonderful time chatting with people who are sharing tales of yesteryear. I will gladly help you find whatever I can, although since the beginning of this year, you have to pay for a lot of what you want – so frustrating as I hit quite a few blocks. Let me have some more information about your grandfather and where he passed and let’s see if I can find anything. Have a super day. πŸ™‚ xo

  3. Good for you, Mandy, and good luck. You’ve reminded me that I have to get back to work on our family tree. Thank you for that. I hope you’re enjoying your weekend.

  4. Enjoy. I know how absorbing and time-consuming that can be. But I also know how satisfying it is to make those discoveries. Hoping you’re having lots of fun…

    • Thanks very much Bill! I really am enjoying this journey and like you say, it is extremely time consuming which is why I have had to take a hiatus from the blogging world for a few weeks. Hope you are well. πŸ™‚ xo

  5. I think it’s so cool that you track your family tree. It’s something I’d love to do someday. Have a very happy holiday season Mandy! Here’s to a wonderful 2014. Cheers!

    • Hi Kristy. This is such an addictive journey but one that requires loads of time.
Wishing you, Mike, Mr N and Miss A a wonderful festive season filled with love and happiness.
      Ditto to a wonderful 2014. πŸ™‚ xo

    • Merry Christmas to you too. We had a wonderful day with family. Every day is a new adventure with doing the family tree – I am loving all the stories. Have a super New Year. πŸ™‚ xo

  6. Hi, I know I was meant to do this months ago but my mother in law is very sick and the time has just flown by. I have finally posted the Getting to Know You -Part three questions and answers for SurreyKitchen if you would like to take a look. Good luck with the family history research, it all sounds very interesting. Belated congratulations on winning the Liebster Award. I am very impressed by the number of awards you have won. Hopefully SurreyKitchen will get nominated for something one day, but I don’t really understand how the awards work yet. Happy New Year. Love Emma http://www.surreykitchen.com.

    • Hi Emma, I have been offline over the festive season so my apologies for only responding now. I’m so sorry to hear your mother in law is ill, I hope she makes a speedy recovery.
Thank you so much for sharing in the fun of the Getting to know you series, it is great fun. I am heading over right now to see your answers.
2014 is going to be a wonderful year for us all. Looking forward to getting to know you better through our blogs.
