I cannot remember when I last shared a un-recipe and this one couldn’t be easier. I am starting to think I am craving so much pasta because of the running as I wasn’t that much of a pasta eater before. I must confess to not making my own pasta for this dish, I simply opened a packet of store bought, well wouldn’t be much of an un-recipe if I had.
Un-Recipe – Bowl of Pasta
Ingredients
Pasta of choice
Olive oil
Garlic crushed
Coriander chopped
Salt and black pepper
Cheese of choice grated
Method
- Boil pasta as per package instruction.
- Stir in a good glug of olive oil with the garlic and coriander.
- Season with salt and black pepper and top with cheese.
I never knew something with “UN” in it could look so FABULOUS!

Aww, you are the best Kim! Thank you! Love to you dear in Minnesota. 🙂 xoxoxo
A variation that I do, instead of coriander, use a fresh sage and add a pinch of chili flakes. I usually eat this if I need a quick meal and no one else is home.
I love the idea of sage, such an underused herb in my opinion. I also thought basil would be a nice herb to use. I will have to go easy on the chilli flakes, maybe some very finely chopped fresh chillies minus the seed. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Nice and simple sometimes works the best specially for a hungry tummy 🙂
Simplicity is often a winner Raymund. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Love simple no-recipe dishes. The pasta looks homey and delicious, Mandy.
Thanks Angie. This really was a satisfying meal. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Love it!
Thanks Lizzy! Have a wonderful day. 🙂 xo
Simple but super delicious and easy, it is like ramen two minute noodles but gourmet, classy and actually tasty 😀
Cheers

Oh absolutely! They go hand in hand. 🙂 Have a wonderful day Tanya. 🙂 xo
Ah yes, pasta gives that burst of energy needed when exercise increases. And it tastes good too! We don’t eat much pasta, but it is always an easy meal to pull together when we do. Simple and tasty!
Eating pasta more than once in a while is new for me too Judy – I am thoroughly enjoying it. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Simple food is always the best! Looks good enough to eat right off the screen! 🙂
You are very kind Linda, thank you! Have an awesome day. 🙂 xo
Now that’s a fantastic un-recipe. Of course you need your pasta! Pasta and running go together. The MS Foundation that Niki’s running for in the Boston Marathon is throwing them a pasta dinner the Friday before the race.
Oh how I would love to be a fly on the way to see how they serve all their pasta. Niki must be getting super excited for the race. Have a super day Diane. 🙂 xo
oh yes my friend! an un-recipe indeed but a must. I eat this all the time when my husband is out of town bc it is just perfect for me:) Although crushed red pepper flakes are a must!
I am hearing more and more about these pepper flakes. I am just going to have to heat more pasta to find out how I enjoy them. Have a super day Belle. 🙂 xo
Simple and delicious, there’s nothing better!
Hi Mary, thanks for stopping by. Simplicity is always a winner. Have a lovely day. 🙂 xo
Strange how I never thought of using coriander in pasta even though I use it in Chinese noodles. which is really a pasta.
I would use coriander in most things Norma, it is my favourite herb. I bet crushed coriander seed would also be good. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
You’re singing my song, Mandy. This is one great pasta proving that things don’t have to be complicated to be good. Minus the coriander, I make this dish quite often.
Hope you’re having a great week!
I must be an authentic Italian then, well, if I leave the coriander out that is. 😀 Have an awesome day John, my week is getting better and better as Pete will be home on Sunday. 🙂 xo
I know what you mean. When I do swim squads I come home craving pasta. I love this recipe and how simple it is yet so full of flavour and great after a long run (or swim!) xx
And I am more thank happy to have a huge bowl full of this after 5pm. 😀 Have a super day Charlie. 🙂 xo

Morning C! Have a beautiful day. 🙂 xo
This is a wonderful ‘un-recipe’ 🙂 I haven’t used coriander in pasta before but it would give such a wonderful flavour.
Hi April, this really is a lovely super quick and tasty meal. Coriander is my favourite herb and would honestly use it in just about anything. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
My son has been running and I can’t believe his appetite now. And he’s tired because he’s not getting enough calories, at least that’s what I think. If only I could run!! Love this sort of recipe.. the pasta.. the butter.. the garlic:Dxx
So pleased I am not the only one who is tired – I thought it was the old perimenopause at play. Good to know it might be I am not getting enough calories. I can’t run either Smidge but I get out there anyway. My mom saw me running the other day and doubled over with laughter at what I look like. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
I like that you put coriander in your unrecipe. I should start running so that I could eat a little more pasta and not feel guilty about it. 😀
It is great being able to eat a little less guilt free. Have a super weekend Karen. 🙂 xo
Fast and fabulous! Comfort food at its finest! Have a super weekend. BAM
Lovely comment Bam, thank you. Have a super weekend too. 🙂 xo
