If somebody had to ask you the question, “What is in your ideal cook book?” what would your top 3, or more if you like, things be?
I ask because I am in the process of revising my Complete Cook Book and will be fluffing up the kitchen guide as well as the recipes.
So, if you could have an all in one complete kitchen book, what would you like to have featured?
I really would appreciate your input and if there is anything I can credit you for, I certainly will.
Thank you for your valuable input and hope you are as excited about the prospect of an improved complete cook book as much as I am.
Main coarse dishes, accompanying sides and desserts. Also quick and easy (but good). Hope you had a great run today!
Kristy, quick and easy are my signature. 😀 Run turned into a ride in a gale force wind. Was hard but fun. Have a lovely day. 🙂 xo
Good luck with this project Mandy!
Thanks very much Tandy! Have a lovely afternoon. 🙂 xo
I’m in the same boat, Mandy, and am trying to gather our recipes for a family cookbook, stories included. The blog is a great starting point but not much more. Recipes and stories selected will all have to be re-written and organized, in some fashion, It’s rather daunting and I look forward to reading the suggestions that people offer here. Good luck!
Must say John, it is quite a large project – one I will do in stages I think. Good luck to you too and have a wonderful weekend. 🙂 xo
I think photos of the end result are very helpful to new cooks. Good luck with your project. 🙂
Thanks Karen. I am hoping to add quite a few photos. Have a super weekend. 🙂 xo
Ooh I would love to have a section where there are only 10 min or less recipes! Not just dinner party worthy 😛
Good luck this is going to be awesome!
Cheers
Choc Chip Uru
Perfect. There will be loads of recipes like that CCU. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂 xo
Ooh – good question. For me it’s about what you can substitute or leave out if you don’t have the exact ingredients to hand and recipes that can be scaled up or down easily. Sounds like you’ll be busy Mandy!
Right, duly noted, thanks Tanya! Never a dull moment around here. Have a wonderful weekend ahead. 🙂 xo
Hey ya my love. Happy Friday! 🙂 I do hope you are well and enjoying the warmer weather.
Wow… What a massive question…. Hmmmm…. I am a big fan of quick and easy, I love Asian cuisine, and Mexican style foods too. The 30 minute mid week meals like noodles or stir fry would be handy, or the share platter type meals or the 1 pan/pot meals like Paella.
Have a great weekend my friend. Lots of love and hugs across the oceans to you. xo
Happy Friday to you too hon. The sun is shining so I will hopefully jump into the garden this weekend.
Love your chef’y response. So cool!
Have a beautiful weekend too filled with lots of love. 🙂 xoxoxo
The perfect cookbook! As a mother of three, I think it has to include family-friendly meals that everyone can enjoy xx
Fantastic! Thanks Charlie. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂 xo
Hi Mandy, sound slike you have a project on your hands 🙂 I haven’t been around fo ra while so it’s good to hear you are busy! I think I’d add small meals – for either lunches or for levenings when you want something light. Hope that helps, Claire x
Hi Claire, lovely to see you again. Thank you for the lovely suggestion. Have a beautiful Saturday. 🙂 xo
My children asked for a recipe book listing not only their favorite recipes but to list the entire meal. I haven’t finished it yet. 🙂
What a wonderful project Maureen. Have a super weekend. 🙂 xo
all the basic ingredients and cooking techniques and how to used it in authentic Indonesian cooking, i guess it’s nice share it to the whole world!
I don’t know much about Indonesian cooking Dedy but love the idea of the ingredients and cooking techniques. Thank you. Have a wonderful weekend. 🙂 xo
I think it has to have everything i.e. bread, drinks, sweets as well as the normal categories. It has to be the only book you need in your kitchen. 🙂
I agree Sally. Thanks for your input. Have a beautiful day. 🙂 xo
Desserts, desserts and desserts, LOL! I don’t know why but desserts never fail to amaze me, so these are what I love to see…All the best, Mandy!
Gourmet Getaways xx
Love the way you think Julie. Already my book is full of desserts. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
Good luck with this project, dear Mandy! I would like to have an index of ingredients & what they are. Aperos, entrees, main dishes, desserts, pous-cafés,..etc. A big salad section!
Fantastic, thanks for your input Sophie! Have a wonderful day. 🙂 xo
Thanks sweety! x
🙂 xo
Oh Mandy, I’m so sorry but somehow I missed this post. Wow, you’ve got a project on your hands. I guess I’m the sort of person who likes such a variety of meal ideas but would love to be able to quickly find meals based on timing – like meals under 30 minutes/quick & easy meals or ‘for something special’/meals that might take a little more time to make but that you’d make for a special occasion or something a little fancier. My other biggest problem is finding easy, non-stress appetizers. I’m ALWAYS looking for tasty nibbles but of course if you’re having a party, you don’t want a bunch of appetizers that each take an hour over the stove.
Good luck with this endeavor because I’m just thinking it’s a tough thing trying to please everyone but I know you would certainly be the person able to do that.
Thank you so much for your wonderful input Diane. I will be doing this project in small increments so may take a while.
Have a beautiful week ahead. 🙂 xo
Good luck with the new book! Quick and Easy fish recipes would be nice
Thanks M. Aah yes, good idea about the fish recipes. 🙂 xo
