In My Kitchen – October 2015

As always a big thank you to our friend Celia for bringing us all together each month with these fun IMK posts. 🙂

In my kitchen…

Were some sticky chicken wings – haven’t had them in a while and they were fabulous.

In my kitchen…

Is a quinoa salad, always such a wonderful taste explosion.

Karin's quinoa 2

In my kitchen…

Was some scrumptious macaroni and cheese, unbaked, my lazy way of making it.

In my kitchen…

Is a bottle of Amarula, a gift from my brother Greg and his wife Karin.  I can see getting rid of my winter weight will have to wait a while longer. 🙂

In my kitchen…

Is a beautiful gift from Greg and Karin’s children, Tom and Anne.  A decorative whisk.

  2. Lovely food in your kitchen this month, Mandy. I do love the decorative whisk! And the unbaked mac and cheese looks divine and I could certainly finish all of the wings on that platter xx

  3. Oh my goodness Mandy – those sticky wings look SO good! I haven’t had them in ages either. Mmm! Your mac and cheese looks delish too. So many good things in your kitchen. And what a beautiful decorative whisk!

    • I bet the kids could handle making both the wings and mac n cheese all on their own Kristy, well maybe with a little help because of the boiling water and hot oven. Have a wonderful week. Thinking of you with your busy time ahead. 🙂 xoxo

  4. Hi Mandy! oh my, that bottle of Amarula! I have just finished some macaroni cheese – my go to dinner when teens have other teens over. Delicious looking wings btw. Happy October x

  5. Mandy… sticky chicken wings, a quinoa “taste explosion”, mac ‘n’ cheese “the lazy way”, a tassel-topped libation, AND a one-of-a-kind whisk? You’ve outdone yourself, girl. (Thanks!)

  6. Hello lovely… please would you deliver two rounds of the wings and the quinoa salad tonight. xxx

  7. Those sticky wings look fabulous as does the mac & cheese – I make mine that way a lot of times too rather than bake it. Is that bacon or ham bits that you’ve added in there?

I’ve never heard of Amarula but looking closely at the label it does look like something I’d definitely give a try.

Adorable whisk – definitely should be on display!

    • Something comforting about an unbaked mac n cheese. It is streaky bacon bits – wonderful addition! I would love to share an Amarula with Diane. Maybe one day. I have hung the whisk up in the kitchen – so cute. Have a wonderful and happy day. 🙂 xo

  8. Thanks for another view behind the magic curtain, Mandy. Those wings and that mac & cheese have made me hungry. I need to fix something for lunch. And that whisk! How special is that?
Love your header photo, by the way.

  9. Fabulous as always! I am going to Pin your chicken wings recipe for testing here. 😀 Of course, you already know I’m a macaroni & cheese addict, so that one’s an obvious lure!

And I’ve long considered that I should try Amarula and see just what it’s like. It’s a creamy liqueur, no?

I never considered that a whisk could be so delightfully designed, but they’re perfectly logical for fun curlicues and fantastical frills, now that I think about it! What a charming gift!

Much, much love, and may you have a glorious Spring week!
    Kathryn

    • Kath, it is always so lovely to read your comments.
Creamy liqueur Amarula is. I guess it is similar but different than Baileys.
I can’t believe how everyone loves my whisk as much as I do. Such a special gift.
Have a beautiful day dear Kath. 🙂 xoxoxo
