  1. I’ve never really been a fan of cornbread as all the recipes I’ve tried have been sweet. But this one…..now you’re talking! Looking forward to giving it a go.

  2. Oooh! This will be a great addition to our BBQ! We’re planning to have one as soon as the weather warms up to treat our new neighbors. Corn bread will be a great addition to the table and I do believe I can find all the ingredients.🙂

    • Oh how lovely to treat your neighbours to a BBQ. Hope the weather warms soon so they can experience what we do every week here. Awesome you will be able to source all the ingredients too. Have a wonderful day Kristy.🙂 xo

  3. “with lashing of cold butter” has just got to be one of the most welcome phrases in the English language🙂 love cornbread and my eldest is constantly reminding me that I haven’t made it in ages! I’m wondering if corn meal would be the closest approximate to mielie meal… I love how simple this is. Wonderful Mandy! x

  4. This sounds fantastic, Mandy. I love a good cornbread and have used it in place of bread when I make stuffing for turkey. I bet this recipe would make one tasty stuffing. YUM!

  5. Coming from the deep South I do say this recipe looks so good. We cannot have a meal without cornbread! I make a basic recipe and turn the finished loaf into bread crumbs and croutons for other recipes. Thanks for sharing.

  6. Mandy, this looks flippin delightful, since cutting a lot of the bad stuff out of my diet, I discovered corn bread, now I have an even easier recipe to have a play with. Thanks love. Big Mwah, mwah, MWAH! xo
