In My Kitchen – January February 2013

In My Kitchen – February 2013

I missed doing an IMK post in January so it seems like forever since I shared anything from my kitchen with you.

In my kitchen…

Are two of my favourite tray cloths – I can’t remember when I last made up a tea tray.  Think I should bake some cookies and have a little tea party.

In my kitchen…

Are pumpkin, sesame, sunflower, poppy and linseed all awaiting to go into a loaf of bread.

Seeds

In my kitchen…

Are the first figs of the season. 😀

In my kitchen…

Is a NoMU sleeve of spices which I was given by Pete’s nephew Simon.  The sleeves were sponsored by @NomuChirps for Simon’s conference @JSinSA which was held late last year. I will hopefully be sharing some recipes soon.

In my kitchen…

Is a new addition to the family – a gorgeous kitty fridge magnet which I received from Simon and his lovely wife Elaine.

In my kitchen…

Is another brick of palm peet – I battle to find it on occasion so bought an extra one just in case.

In My Kitchen – December 2012

In My Kitchen – December 2012

Well, here we are doing the last IMK post for the year!  You may remember I mentioned last month, I was going to work on a Christmas theme for this month.  Now being a non-child household, we never got into the whole decorating the house thing so I really don’t have much to offer you in the way of Christmas, but I did manage to find a few bits and bobs.

In my kitchen…

Is a lovely Christmas platter which I received from my cousin last year.

In my kitchen…

Are sort of Christmasy beaded napkin rings which my aunt made for me.  I cannot remember why I asked her to make this specific colour though…

In my kitchen…

Is a mini Chritmas tree – a table top tree which has gorgeous little beaded angels on which my aunt made too.  I found the tree in the cupboard after we bought the house.

In my kitchen…

Is a Christmas fridge magnet which I got from my SIL years ago.

In my kitchen…

Are two Christmas tea light holders which I brought back from Mauritius.

In my kitchen…

Are six pine cone candles which I found in the back of a drawer so they look a little worse for ware.  I do remember using them on a Christmas Day lunch table years back when we were still living in Johannesburg.

In My Kitchen November 2011

The start of a new month means time for Celia’s “In My Kitchen” post.

Straight into it then.

In My Kitchen – November 2011

In my kitchen…

Is my cookie cutter and icing set which I don’t use often enough but with the silly season fast approaching, think I will get cracking with some cookies for family and friends.

In my kitchen…

Is my teapot I got from friends just before leaving the island and it pours beautifully.

In my kitchen…

Are the exquisite salad servers that we received as a wedding gift from a very dear friend of mine – can you believe I have never used then – so sad to have these stashed away in a cupboard so they are now out and ready to be used.

In my kitchen…

Is the sweetest kitty fridge magnet note holder which I received from one of my sister-in-laws (I have 4) and it travelled with us to Mauritius and back and will be sure to travel with us wherever we may go next.

In my kitchen…

Are vanilla pods that I brought back from Mauritius and 2 have not been put into bottles with a mix of vodka and gin (because that’s what we had dregs of) to make vanilla extract. 🙂

In my kitchen…

Are my favourite champagne flutes which I got from my cousin about a hundred years ago.  We have just discovered a few forgotten bottles of Moët en Chandon in the booze cupboard so.. cheers.
