I’m constantly trying to learn more about cooking since my mother died when I was young and didn’t have the benefit of her passing down her knowledge/skills/talent of baking and cooking.

Hi just found your page whilst looking for information on cake tin conversion. I wish to make madiera cake for granddaughters birthday. Recipe I wish to use is for a Loaf Tin 8inch. I want to make it in round tin. Can you advise me as to what size tin I should use.

Hi Margaret, my apologies for such a late reply. I have been on holiday so nowhere near my computer. You can use either a 9 x 2 inch or 8 x 8 x 2 inch round tin.

Hi UDay. My sincerest apologies for the delay in replying. I am not sure where you are in the world but most grocery stores and markets sell figs, depended on the time of year of course. Hope you can find some. 🙂
