I was recently in Nairobi with Pete and while there he took me to the Nairobi National Park. What an incredibly beautiful park! It is located just 5 miles from the city and is the only protected area in the world with wildlife in the city.
It was exciting to see animals we don’t get in Addo National Elephant park, like one of my all time favourites, the giraffe. They are such majestic animals.
If you ever have the opportunity to visit Nairobi, Kenya, I highly recommend you make the time to visit the National park.
Thinking of visiting Kenya and Tanzania next year, will visit the park for sure, looks fantastic. Sheila
It’s well worth the visit Sheila. Thanks for stopping by. 🙂 xo
Wow! Mandy, all those wild animals so close to the city, pretty cool.
It is amazing! Have a super day Cheri. 🙂 xo
Wild animals are so beautiful!
Absolutely Angie! All of them. Have a super day. 🙂 xo
It’s a bit surreal seeing the city in the distance in some of the shots! Fantastic photos and what a lucky lady you are to have been able to visit ☺
Yes, it seems odd to have a city-scape in the background. Have a beautiful and happy week Tania. 🙂 xo
Hello Mandy,
Thanks for sharing these magnificent photos. What is the name of the bird in photo no 35? I know we have them here but I cant remember the name. The
Patterns in the giraffe neck are amazing, can I see a maple leaf there? Hahaha. You had a wonderful experience getting up close to so many animals, and your photography is
First class. What fun.
Love,
BERYL HEALY.
Again, thank you! I appreciated your kind words. 😉 xo
I wish they could all be protected FOREVER.
Such majestic and amazing photos, dear.
My heart is full with the beauty of them.
Love and hugs from Duluth, MN. xxxxxxooooo
Yes, me too! Thank you Kim, you are very kind. Love and hugs to you from a very warm and sunny Sundays River. 🙂 xoxoxo
Love those giraffe, so beautiful 🙂
Pete still won’t let me have one! 🙂 xoxoxo
That shot of the giraffe with the bird flying gives amazing perspective. Great photographs Mandy 😀
Thanks so much Tandy! Trust you have been keeping well. 🙂 xo
Absolutely loved your photos, especially the first one. Where else in the world could you see a giraffe with skyscrapers in the background…just great!
Thanks so much Karen! Isn’t it just amazing to see the contrast of the wild and urban. Have a beautiful weekend ahead. 🙂 xo
You got the most fantastic photos! Wow – I love them all. I can’t believe how many different species you saw on your trip – and you managed to get great shots of each one! Thank you for this lovely adventure 🙂 Happy weekend!
Tricia, you are too kind, thank you so very much for your beautiful words. It truly was an incredible trip. Hope your weekend has been special. 🙂 xo
I love it when you visit these parks and show us all your images. What an awesome experience. It is very much people from Oz dream about as a once-in-a-lifetime must do. But you need deep pockets from here! Great images xx
Thanks Charlie! You always have a place to stay here if and or when you can plan a trip. Our Rand is so weak so the exchange rate should work in your favour. Have a beautiful and happy week ahead. 🙂 xo
Gorgeous wild life photos, how did you manage to get those close up shots of the giraffes?
Thanks Norma. They were amazingly close to us – such a wonderful experience! Have a wonderful day. 🙂 xo
Mandy, you just made my day. These animals are absolutely beautiful and I so enjoy wildlife photos. Thank you so much for posting these.

so cool how close the animals are to the city
Absolutely incredible! Have super day. 🙂
Wow – so close to the city! I spent some time in Nairobi and had no idea there was a park so close (though we did go to the Giraffe refuge). Lovely photos Mandy.
I too visited the Giraffe refuge on a previous visit – what a privilege to be able to have contact with such magnificent animals! The park reaches right down to the airport and we have seen giraffe on leaving the airport, although we do know that the rangers bring them closer for visitors to see as they head out from the airport. Have a wonderful Fiona. 🙂 xo
Beautiful captivating photos, dear Many! I loved it all! xxx
You are very kind Sophie, thank you! 🙂 xoxo
Love, love, love. Of course! 😀 xoxoxo!
K
Aww, thanks darling Kath! 🙂 xoxoxo
Love seeing the animals in natural reserve and the city scape in the distance.
Going in Feb. 2017 and can’t wait. Like your blog!
Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words. Kenya is frightfully expensive coming from a third world country like we do but will be much better for you. Hope you will also be able to visit the Giraffe sanctuary while you are there. Have a happy day. 🙂 xo
I’m fortunate to be staying with dear friends while there! Let’s stay in like!!! 🙂
Wonderful!
Amazing shot
